Using My Reflections
The My Reflections section within Sacred Rhythms is designed to help believers slow down, notice God’s presence, and reflect prayerfully on the movements of daily life. Many people move through their days so quickly that they rarely stop long enough to notice what is happening within them spiritually, emotionally, or relationally. My Reflections creates a quiet space to pause and become more attentive.
This guided reflection experience is inspired in part by historic Christian practices such as the Examen. The purpose is not self criticism or over analysis. Instead, the goal is to cultivate awareness, gratitude, honesty, and attentiveness to God’s presence throughout the ordinary moments of life. Reflection prompts invite users to consider questions such as where they noticed God’s presence, what brought peace or gratitude, where they felt distracted or anxious, and what they may be carrying into tomorrow.
One important aspect of My Reflections is that it encourages honesty without pressure. Some days may feel full of gratitude and clarity. Other days may feel difficult, confusing, or spiritually dry. Reflection allows space for all of those experiences. The goal is not to create polished spiritual answers. The goal is attentiveness. Over time, guided reflection can help believers recognize patterns within their lives while deepening awareness of grace, mercy, and God’s ongoing presence.
My Reflections also works naturally alongside prayer and Scripture. Many users may move from FLOW into guided reflection as part of a steady rhythm of spiritual attentiveness. Others may use reflection at the end of the day as a quiet moment of review before rest. Like the prayer section, reflections can optionally be emailed back to the user after completion. Ultimately, My Reflections is not about recording information. It is about learning to pay attention.
